checkmate with bishop and king
I've just realised a lone queen cannot checkmate a lone king. All pieces need help to checkmate.
Yes, your king needs to help in that checkmate
the only way to make a checkmate is with 2 bishop, it's imposible with one bishop
Not two light squared bishop or two dark square bishop

oh right thanks, i forgot that
what about knight vs bishop checkmate
Also cannot. Bishop + Knight on same side can but never when they are the only piece left on the board with their king... here is how I practice Bishop + Knight End-Game Check-Mate...
K+B vs K+N can continue playing since checkmate is technically possible (by either side) even though it cannot be forced. If one of the two players flags then FIDE would almost automatically assess a loss (though not with While having Kf8/Ng6 while Black flags with Kh8/Bh7 since the only legal move Black has requires capturing the Knight and eliminate any chances for White to deliver checkmate) while USCF would only assess a loss if a checkmate could be forced.
If it ends up to one bishop and a king left, the game would end by insignificant material however if there were two bishops, there is a checkmate you can do.
