Why I'm Staying on Chess.com
I like chess.com but at risk of being a can opener, this anti Global-Warming talk is really insulting to me. I'm a conservationist, an environmental activist and a humanitarian. Ignoring global warming and insulting people who believe it is malicious.
I don't want to point out the stupidity of all the arguments I've seen here about how Global Warming is supposed to be good. But I really hope these people are just being sarcastic and really do understand the serious situation our planet is in.

Yes actually. I admit I fit the liberal stereotype fairly well. But I do believe in global warming and I'm probably not the only one in this forum.
And whats with the weird text formatting in these entry boxes? Can I get a proper text box please? :P
The vast majority of scientists who have studied our atmosphere (who know a lot more about the subject than any of us) believe that the burning of fossil fuels since the industrial revolution has had a measurable impact on our atmosphere, causing a general rise in temperature (over a very short period of time in terms of the earth's history) and disruption to weather patterns which have made extreme events like hurricanes more frequent and more violent.
Of course, these scientists may be wrong but becoming more energy efficient and developing new energy technologies is a no-brainer anyway whether it's true or not. Oil is not going to last for ever.
I'm staying on chess.com because it's a great site and I'm enjoying playing correspondence chess here (which I've never done before).
"Have a toasted cheese sarmy"
NO! Not toasted! that only speeds up the whole global warming process. Have an ambient cheese sandwich if you really care about the planet!
I read an article on page 6 of the paper yesterday. It said simply that "scientists" had determined that the melting of the ice caps is due mainly to a natrual cyclic weather pattern. It went on to say that mankind's actions have probably exacerbated this effect.
I have to wonder why this was buried in the middle of the paper. Maybe someone can confirm this article.
