I'm serious, I used to have an account there, but the connection is the worst I have ever seen. you're games never load properly and the administrator never listens to any requests. This is the best site I have ever played at. Just thought you should know...

you're probably right. this webste has a more welcoming home page

If you are going to properly complain about a chess website and an administrator, don't play at GameKnot. Chesshere is golden in comparison!!

Tongue out don't play elsewhere!!!

This site is the best !!! Tongue outCool

I wouldn't say this site is the best, it is certainly terrific in it's teenage form but needs some serious polishing to become the very best!

I agree. I have played a number of games at chesshere and gameknot. The system is so terrible! It sucks really. chess.com will become the best if it has a blitz or real time game feature that won't frustrate the player because of a terrible system.

i hope I don't get ban or flag inappropriate for saying this:

1) Chesshere:- lack of support from the admins and owner.  The reason is that the owner is trying to sell off that site to someone. So far no luck. Errr...I have played less than 8 games there and I have encountered 2 players that I suspect of using chess engines. Why? one player do not know how to play closed position and kept moving pieces here and there without a plan. For a player who claims to have 2200 ELO that is indeed  strange. My position is lost and very easy to break through.

The other player is too tactically perfect and materialistic. Underpormoted to a knight to get an extra pawn. A Queen would also have easily won.

 2) Gameknot is great place. I do find the players there more challenging and extremly difficult. However, the forum is difficult to access and there is lack of the community atmosphere.

 3) Over here at chess.com. Great place too. My only complain is the level of competition and thematic openings here. But I believe once this site is more well known more better players will come here.

I iterate Chess.com is a fine site but is up against some serious competition for best chess site. GameKnot, RedHotPawn, Chessworld, chess_knights, etc. You cannot be everything to everyone. This site is a disjointed and a bit messy in it's organization. It needs to streamline and concentrate! A fine alternative to the rest but the best, not yet!

I thought it was SOLD and the person who bought it is destroying the website?

Some guy by the name of Amir something?

 Cherehere is in big trouble.

How's this site messy?, everything is easily accessible! I think the only thing it lacks are people willing to play blitz  (only like 4 people there tops) and a better interface.

I've tried about six sites and it's just an opinion but to me chess.com is far superior.

While I disagree that chess.com isn't already the best, there are a few messy things here and there.  This site is a baby.  I'm sure it will all get ironed out.  The things I'm talking about are merely cosmetic: text breaking through post-box walls, drop-lists hiding behind game boards, etc.

never heard of it but ill go check it out

I think www.chessworld.net is still NO.1  with about 600 000 registered players

Tournaments,League,Team games...  but Chess.com is on good way to become the best

I like chess.com. It’s absolutely customer friendly (and I’m a greenhorn in this, believe me) the visual aspects of this site is absolutely simple and straightforward. I’m not very demanding because I’m an absolute beginner and I’m not a sophisticated player, I still have not much of an idea what the Sicilian etc. is all about. I have tried gameknot.com and I find the whole scenario dark and confusing.

So, my point is the absolute customer friendly layout of chess.com. It works for my eyes. It’s all about the visuals!

Besides, the few encounters that I had with the direzione” were very charming… So, thumbs up! Excellent product!

For a free site, Chess.com is very good

Couldn't you have, at the least, edited your copy and paste reply from another forum topic?  The direzione bit makes no sense this time.

lol, i did wonder.

This site is the best chess site I have ever been to.  Other sites just do not, and can not rival the features, the community, and the diversity of play.

I am DEFINITELY biased in my opinion, but I can't see how anyone would see any other site as being easier to navigate or easier on the eyes than Chess.com. :)

Yes, there are a few blemishes we still need to fix (the dropdown menu going behind the daily puzzle in ie), but pretty minor when you consider the overwhelming # of features on this site compared to any other.

Monalisa, if you have specific suggestions as to how to make the site easier to navigate, or whats confusing about it in its current form, we are always very open and love hearing suggestions! thanks!
