Tournaments?

I asked pretty much the same last week. responses I got indicated there are things in the pipeline wrt live chess and tournaments. I guess we have to just wait and see. Incidentally, I am more taken with this site the more I look around it so I'm sure you'll like it.
Yes, the Chess.com staff is working on bringing live chess to the site at the moment. After that is completed having tournaments is one of the next things on the "to do" list.
I have played at a lot of the other chess sites (chessworld.com, gameknot.com, redhotpawn.com), but am very taken with this site. 
In fact, I think I am in danger of timing out on my other games at another site if I don't get over there and make a move...

I'm new to chess.com site. I usually play over at letsplaychess.com. Are there tournaments, pyramids, or any other team chess options here, or is it simply straight playing?
