STOP BULLYING

Sort:
josephyossi

Guys, this is serious. I posted another forum like this but not many heeded it. This has to stop. Just yesterday I encountered a bully. I have run across 10 bullys in the past week! We need to respect each other and treat each other with kindness!

block or report them!

Yes, you should report them. Chess.com has many faults but one thing it's pretty good at is taking action against users who are abusive. Personally I think the best way to treat people who are abusive is just to ignore them (that's what annoys them the most) but I have two children who use this site and I don't like the idea of them getting abuse so, if someone is really out of order, I report them. Take a screen shot of the abuse and then use that as evidence. You'll be surprised how quickly chess.com reacts. If the abuse is relatively minor, eg "haha, you suck" then like I say I'd just ignore it (that sort of childishness says more about the abuser than the person they're attacking) but if it's any worse than that I'd report it asap.

Left wing tree huggers... bullying is fun and cathartic... Chess is tough game my friend. If you cannot handle... go to Checker club.

This is true. It's best to ignore simple remarks at this. One time someone told me after a game, "I used to think I was bad but then I played you." I ignored him and went with it. Chances are, he was a kid who was surprised he beat me and thought I was stupid since he thought he was bad.

And then the other type... yes, reporting it to chess.com will help. They will make sure these users don't keep doing this. So, Joseph, we CAN do something about it. happy.png
