Great layout, great set of features, great community. So let's say this site is just great!
I haven't played at any other sites, so I can't really compare it to anything, but I really think this sight is awesome. I like the forums and the tactics trainer, but most of all just playing chess. Keep up the great work Chess.com!

I've played on more sites than I can count... well okay that's a hyperbole but you get the idea... well over 10.
The point is, despite all the sites I've played on, there is absolutely no question, this site is the best.
Chess.com is the single best website devoted to chess I have ever encountered.

I love this site and the friends I made here. I'm learning a great deal of chess here. The forums, blogs, News, Events, cheater_1 threads (funny but intertaining) and especailly the hard work the staff are puting into the site to make it even better. Not only chess is apart of me, also chess.com is now became apart of me.
I too have played on several other sites, and while they were OK none compare to this site The staff here really care about the players and are working very hard to make it better then it already is although that will be hard to do because it's great In my opinion best chess site on the web.

It is easily the best at present. Ive done ics in the early '90s and then icc, and fics; until the present. But this one not only has the best material; and great play-options [lightning to week-a-move or more]; but a very decent community.
So, *at present*, chess.com is the best - no other site(web or ftp or anything else:) ) even comes near.
However, I'll recommend a few sites - not for playing but for downloading/looking up games and offline-reading material:
a) exeter chess club has put its archives for download [should be still there] - some great anecdotal and instructive material there
b) some downloadable classic chess books [incl a few in russian only] - i can't remember where i found them - eugene znosko-borovsky's middlegame book and combination book, reti's 'new ideas in chess', keres's strategy-book in english, reuben fine's 'ideas behind the chess openings', ... they are almost all .djvu format so you can google for them... [at least one was on project gutenberg canada]
c) chesslab.com for locating master games where a given position arose
d) one of the online tablebase servers - if you are occasionally on endgame-analysis trips -- because not everyone has 6-piece tablebases at home :)
i think that if they'd stop kicking me off and/or threatening to kick me off this would be a great site. also, they should be a little more tolerant of questionable language when it is not intended to insult but to get a rise out of folks.
no i haven't read the policy but believe me, i've been briefed.
So many chess players in one locale. The rating system adds a competitive flair. The list goes on and on like a perpetual check.
As far as I am aware the site is very new, and it is clear that in time to come (and as popularity increases) it will be one of the best. 
I am hooked to this site such that I have not had time to look at other sites!
What this means is that the site has satisfied me in my chess needs!!
I know more and better things are yet to come out of the site and the best is on the horizon!

Its great to take part in this active community. I've already learned many things and am still learning. The level of dedication of the staff and people here is really high making this site worth visiting every day.
Plus, it's my only way to learn chess since im not in a club and not many people I know can play. thanks chess.com
