No Open Seeks
remember, you can only see the seeks that you can join :) there may be seeks, just not in your rating range.
but here is a novel idea: create a few seeks? :P

eric, this site is great. No complaints here.

Yeah, this is what I did. I was mostly curious whether the new functinality had caused this screen to dry up -- the restriction of the view to only those seeks I'm eligible for must also be relatively new becuase I used to see them all.
Thanks Erik.
I've been embroiled in a couple of tournaments lately (one member organized one from before the actual tournaments functionality was implemented, and the other -- The Bongcloud Invitational that I set up to try out the new feature) and have been up to my eyeballs in games. Today, as the gameload from these tournaments winds down, I decided to see what was available as far as seeks go and lo-and-behold, there were no open seeks. I think this is the first time I've ever seen this screen so barren.
Is this perhaps because of the official release of live chess? Or maybe the new tournament functionality? Is today just a slow day, or is the only way for me to get a non-live game now to join a tournament? I've put some time in doing commercial software development myself and have learned that the one thing you can count on is that a user community will often react in unexpected ways and that incentivising your users to behave in a predictable manner can be a very fine (and difficult) balance to strike.
Keep in mind that I'm not really complaining here, I'm just curious if this is in fact the result of new functionality, and if so whether this behaviour is something that was anticipated by the Chess.com staff. In the interest in getting something going I just put a seek out myself to test the "seek liquidity" (as well as to contribute to a resolution to the problem as opposed to just looking to pick off existing seeks) and it was filled as quickly as any my previous seeks have ever been.
Any theories? Any insight from the staff?
