it's really your choice of which you would like to send. i send a note if it is a quick message that is OK to be public. i send a message if it is longer or private :)
Messages versus Notes?
I must admit I was a bit confused as to the difference between a note and a message, I always use messages unless it's something I know the person and I would want to be public or might be of interest to others.
On another tack though why on earth would you be challenging someone who has challenges blocked? Obviously they're not interested, there's lots of people to play..
What's the difference between the two? I mean, I can see there's a difference, but why do people use one over the other?
I've never used Notes, anything I've had to say to someone can be said just as easily in a message. I only ask because I found today that I have been blocked from sending a certain player notes; which I thought odd given that I've only ever conversed with said player once, and that was simply to ask for a game. I did this via the message one can send in a friend request, since the player had challenges blocked, and was only accepting messages from friends - to prevent spam. Now, surely it's as easy to spam in a Note, no?
I'm not going to lose any sleep over it - I'm just wondering what the 'etiquette' is here for Messages/Notes. It's the same thing on myspace, etc... What's the difference in sending a message or a note? On myspace, if you send the equivalent of a note it's generally to promote one's own profile. Is the same true here? I mean, surely a message saying 'good game' is as effective as a note?
Just curious...
