I have to suggest...

Having some sort of ignore list that allows me to filter the people that can accept my open challenges... so far I've played against 2 (of 100 or so, so I'm rather happy) people who have been extremely ignorant..

Figured it would be a good upgrade to a simple chat ignore list..

Hopefully someone is with me :)

I personally dislike the people that don't resign!  Yes, I know it's perfectly within your rights to stall 'till the last hour and play all the way to mate but at a certain level in CC play no one is going to blow a 9 pawn advantage!

It would be nice to have a way of avoiding rematches against people whom you've had these experiences with.

i must admit im not bothered about weather people resign, if i know im going to win i just put that game to the back of my head and focus on the important ones. as ive said many times on this forum about stalling..'its there problem not yours', they will have to lose eventually.....

I'm totally with you on this!!

Starting with "My Home" in the upper-right hand corner, choosing "Account", and then when that screen comes up, look for "Privacy".  Click there, and you should see "Blocked Members" at the bottom of the screen where you can put members you want to block.  Is this what you mean?

MapleDanish
I know about that but the problem is that it doesn't stop those players from being able to challenge you or accept your open invites.
KnightNotHorse
Wow. Ok, then I would call that a bug.  The whole idea behind the blocked members is that you want nothing to do with them.  Maybe the Admins will take note of this and can fix it?
DW_Read
...also it doesnt stop unwanted members asking for friend requests either....

I would love to have a block list so they can have NO contact at all  I 2nd or 3rd whatever i am suppose to do lol

Every premier server based chess site has an ignore list. In this vein I think the chat ignore is redundant and should be removed in favor of a standard ignore list!
erik
oh! the blocked member thing isn't working?? we'll get it fixed.
KnightNotHorse
Erik, once it is fixed, could you please review what exactly blocked members won't be allowed to do?  Will we have no communication with them at all(if desired), or will there still be a few places to watch out for?  Thanks!
MapleDanish

oh dear... I completely forgot to mention... I'm not 100% sure the block thing doesn't do that already...

I was told that when you block someone it only blocks the chat and not challenges... that could be wrong, I've never recieved a challenge from a blocked memeber.

DW_Read
you cant get challenged by a block member, and they cant send you messages. BUT they can request a friendship, and they can join your open games and chat in game (unless you disable) so i dont think it works as it Should do... blocked members should not be able to have ANY contact with you what so ever.
MapleDanish
okay good, as I thought.
DW_Read

sry ih8sens, i meant thats what the BLOCKED thing should do but it doesnt ;-)

erik

ok. so you blocked me and i tried to challenge you and i could not. i couldn't message you or drop you a note either :)

looks like it is working!

MapleDanish

great!!!

I'll unblock you now :P  and of course, if that game challenge was legit I'm perfectly up for a game with the big boss ;)

edit - weird, you were already unblocked ... do I smell misuse of power ?? ;)

Ignore list on every other site regards open invites, responding to ongoing game chat. Tournaments and league play are not affected. Chat ignore is so unnecessary and should be bundled under the ignore player banner. The site managment merely has to go to the top three server based internet sites to get some info~~
KnightNotHorse
Yes, but what if you are playing someone for the first time, and then in mid-game they turn into a wanker...you want to finish the game, but don't want to chat anymore.  Good to have that chat-off feature.  Besides, i think removing the chat ignore and then beefing up the ignore list would be more work, since chat ignore works just fine now...just leave that as is, and make whatever necessary changes to the overall ignore feature.
