How to download chess.com on PC
You can download chess.com on a computer; I've done it. In Google Chrome, there should be an icon of a computer with a down arrow next to the bookmark button (the star in the top right corner of the screen). Click the icon and it'll download the Chess.com app.

That's not downloading an app: that's just creating a shortcut to the Chess.com site that you can click on that will take you to the site directly.

Its basically creating an app, but is browser based. There is no possible way for chess.com to become an actual app for pc, and to become an offline use. Only mobile had the app.

I actually found two ways to download the app: first of all, timetomew, I tested your theory that it is browser base by following the steps provided by ShawnRippel and then uninstalling google chrome, which is the only browser I have on my computer. I was still able to open the app, so the steps ShawnRippel provided actually do download the app and it is in fact not browser based. Second way is to just use google play games (it is in beta as of this post so it may be a bit buggy) and just download the mobile version of the chesscom app from there, and your computer will automatically reformat it to fit a computer screen and it works just like the website, but with the features of the app. Hope this helps.
They should make an application for pc aswell. It will help people like us a lot. As I have a laptop which is an year older than me and can't handle a lot of apps running together. An app can solve this issue. I hope this request is being looked forward as this may end issues of many of us...

I don't believe there are any plans to ever create a standalone app for Windows.

They may not be planning such things but they should. There are so many Content Creators and the fame of Chess is pretty high and Chess.com is considered as the main site so why should'nt they?

The amount of development resources and support likely wouldn't be worth it.

I think they have got a lot of funds and this can increase the popularity a lot... According to me... As computers are the main way of playing this. If they can make a mobile app why an't they make an app for PC?
It's extra developers, testers, and other staff and doesn't add much value over running on the website from a full computer. I believe the CEO has posted before there won't be a desktop application.
