Hi Gaby, I played through your losses against baha and dimabar. I see two basic flaws in your game that are holding you back:

  1. You don't follow opening principles. In the opening you should aim to control the center and develop your minor pieces. Instead, you are all about checkmate, checkmate, checkmate
  2. A keen tactical eye for forks, pins, skewers, discoveries, and mates could also have helped you avoid disaster. Chess.com has a tactics trainer, and there are also books like Seirawan's Winning Chess Tactics that can help.

If you learn endgame tactics, your rating with improve greatly. And yes, follow principles. 4 mve checkmate/scholars mate doesnt work anymore

This is a common question. I jumped from USCF 1200-1500 by reading tactic books, so I recommend doing the same thing. After you loose a game, I would also

go over it with a stronger player.  She'll tell you where you went wrong.

Also, always have a positive attitude.  Learn from your mistakes, so you don't have to repeat them.

My website,  www.geocities.com/chessdiva.show also gives some good tips to improve.

   I hope this helps.

LEARN AN OPENING!

A good rule of thumb is to develop your pieces toward the center, keep your queen back until her best place is determined, castle early, develop the center, prefer bishops over knights, open files and most of all: Coordinate your pieces.Piece coordination does many things, it keeps you from leaving pieces hanging, it focuses your attack and it makes you think about the objective.

Also strategy is most important: Have a goal and try to thwart your opponent's goal. Plan and don't just react.

its always good to play with ppl that are better than you because if you stary with noobs you wont become better and suck ass when pl;aying with better ppl

exactly what i was going to say. 4 move checkmate is a move we all did when we were 10, to impress ourr opponents. No one falls for it above rank 500. its a waste of development in my opinion

once u guys start to understand basic principles of chess like development and tactical combinations/sacrifices and positional manuervering, the next step is to become master of the e4 and e5, the two main openings for white.  Also, it would be a good idea to study open positions in case white or black should choose play crazy chess, sacrificing pawns from the start.  What has helped me improve my game by a lot is, before EVERY move i make, i try to analyze the situation, and allow logic to move my fingers.  occassionally i will make an over aggressive move that will cost me the game.  but that is a matter of haste, sometimes when u have all these games, u just make quick second best moves.

My advice is for you to plsy slower, wait for some seconds think and then move. Always check why the opponent did his last move, the opponents move is just as inportant as yours.
