Hello

My handle is Sharpie1975, my name is Derek Sharp but my friends call me Sharpie.  I am a 33 year old father of two children who both have autism.  I am not great at chess, but I find myself at a weird level of chess where it is hard to find somebody to play against...I either play against people who tear me apart, or give me absolutely no challenge at all.  Plus, with the two kids, it is hard to find time to sit down to a proper game of chess.  But I love to play, have since I was five years old, and my son is starting to play now too (he's six).  My wife likes to play, but likely won't be playing here very often. 

I actually just found this site by typing www.chess.com in the address bar, looking for a decent site to play at, a place where finding an opponent for a decent match might be easier.  So far, the site seems very friendly, and user-friendly too.

I am not exactly a student of the game, I don't study openings, endgames, or anything like that.  Like I said, I just enjoy playing the game, and I hope to do a lot of that here.
