sorry, i like playin chess all the time and was open to greeting games , i have met some nice players ,but unfortunately for the most part there are too many "lost on time" games so i decided i`d let some one else  have a go

I have 10 greeter games on the go at the moment and it looks like a lot of them are going to go the same way :-(

I had the same experience,  I increased the number of greeter games to 20, and still most of them time out.  When I got tired of that, I change my settings so I don't get any greeter games for awhile.   I just started again with 20 greeter games...and so it goes.  I meet so really nice new comers who are great but there are lots more that don't make any moves in their game, and others that abort the game.  When I am waiting for an opponent to make a move I go study for awhile on tactics or read some of the interesting things that are on this website.  All in all, I keep busy whether in a tournament, regular games, or learning more about chess.  Wink

I played out my greeter game!

Thanks to craftysuzie who was welcoming and helpful, and even let me win. Smile

Being a greeter you just have to be accepting of the fact that in about 90% of the games the opponent will either 1. make one move, lose on time, and never be seen again or 2. won't make any move, lose on time, and will never be seen again.  To date I've only had one outstanding greetee, but he along with the hope that there will be more makes it worth the trouble.
