just curious.... is this something new , that an e-mail is sent everytime its your move ? is it really neccessary or redundant?

I'm not dead sure but I think you can turn that off in your account settings.

It's not new, it's just that our email notification system was broken for a good majority of our users, so now that it's been fixed, you guys are just now noticing the emails. :)

 

Our notification system is very "intelligent" though in that we detect when you are online/offline and you should only ever receive one alert email when you are offline, and you shouldn't receive any emails when you're on the site. If you feel that even this setup is too annoying for you, you can always adjust your alerts as Patzer pointed out. There should also be a link in the emails you get to change these settings.
