Chessly 2.0 gonna be lit

Guys gothamchess's chessly 2.0 is on the way, and it is sooooo gooood. The prices are $4.99 a month on launch for the yearly plan!!! you get EVERY SINGLE COURSE AS WELL! That is like $60 a year, and you get all the courses. It is such a good deal, and now apparantly you will be able to link your chess.com account to chessly, and get feedback based on your opening courses. This is amazing. Chessable might have some competition now huh? (I have nothing against chessable.) Who else thinks its gonna be lit?

im excited for the opening repertoire feature. i have tried various sites and apps for such a feature but there is room for improvement.

It does look like a good deal, I'm a big fan of Levy, he's a great analyst and teacher and I really enjoy his content. I bought the Caro kann course, but I'm still working through it. I'll probably buy the E4 course also (the sample chapter has already helped me) but I don't know if I'll sign up to $4.99 per month for access to all the courses. Because realistically, I just won't find time to study them.

However, just doing the maths - each individual course is around $60 - $80 as I remember, so costwise, it's kind of a no-brainer

In my opinion, if you were going to buy the e4 course, then paying for the subsciption is more worth it.

hi how are you?

@Dylanlike "In my opinion, if you were going to buy the e4 course, then paying for the subsciption is more worth it."

Yes, I think you're right. I'm just waiting a little while to find out how long you get access to all the courses. I'm assuming one gets access for at least 12 months, but I'm not sure

Also, levy occasionally offers discounts on his courses, I think I got 30% off the course I bought. So I'm going to wait a few days til chessly 2. 0 is live - which I think is on December 13th.

I got an email and he said that on launch, he is having a sale for either 5.99 a month or 4.99 a year. The year is obviously a better deal, and you would get everything for $60 a year. Also, I am not entirely sure if he is going to keep adding material to the old chessly. So the courses will probably become outdated, and he wont add on the them. Finally, I don't know if he is even going to sell them after this launch, or if he is only keeping it as a legacy version for people that bought it in the past

We will see on december 13th

It is interesting- there is a gap in the market for a subscription chess learning app of this quality IMO. Other ones out there are either intensely AI driven or a bit fusty IMO.
I definitely prefer to own courses but, as you folks say, it becomes a bit of a no-brainer value-wise when the price of one course is the same as access to all courses for a year...
It could be the subscription model done right- potentially exciting!

Can't wait bro

Anyone know if there'll actually be an app, as opposed to a desktop site? Even a phone optimised website isn't as good, as my best study time would be on my commute in the tube with no internet access

I am assuming not. I know there are a lot of people who said they wanted an app. There was this guy on reddit that also asked about this. In my logic, if he hasn't said anything about there being an app then there probably isn't one. Still though, he's getting chessly 2.0 to 50+ courses and its only $5 a month for the yearly plan which is a great deal.

masterofnone805

It will be better than any other chess website

What is going on with Chessly ?

I bought 2 online courses last year and now I have to pay a subscription again to have access to the same 2 courses ?

AMagirlcom

I think you can go to old.chessly.com or something

Hope1966

You are right. Thank you !

JohnnyErasmic

From what I understand, you will always have access to the courses you have already bought. That won't change. But of you subscribe to chessly2.0 you will also have access to all the courses. And there's a lot of them.

Someday2221

I an using the 1 week free trial of Chessly 2.0. The English course is great but the courses made specifically for Chessly 2.0 have very few lines. Hopefully this will change soon.

However, it automatically takes the money from our accounts every year and it is unstoppable. If we want to discontinue, it will not allow us. So it is kinda scamming us
