Change in how Game Clocks start

Sort:

We have just recently changed how games begin on Chess.com, including tournament games. The clocks now start the moment the game begins, and the player has the fully allotted time of the time control to make their first move, the same way it would work on any successive moves. Prior to this, we always just allowed 3 days for someone to make their first move, but realized this doesn't make as much sense. So now you should see all your (FUTURE) tournament games begin right when the tournament starts.

Jay, what about the people who still have 3 days left and still haven't moved in the current tournaments ?

In all of these games, you should NOW see their clock is running.

His last login date was March 9th..  is your opponent aware his tournament games have started ?

That was a programming bug in all tournament games. Those games should now have the clocks running and from now on those clocks will start running the second the game is started.
