of a specific person?

MGleason

Yes

rishikeshwaran

What else can you do?

MGleason

Delete/edit comments, ban people (only abuse closures; only staff can do fair play closures), mute people, open accounts people have self-closed, etc.  I can't see private messages or private club forums.

Almost all of us know that you can 'Delete/edit comments, ban people (only abuse closures; only staff can do fair play closures), mute people, open accounts people have self-closed'....I'm curious about that 'etc.' wink.png

Bad_Dobby_Fischer

can you un-delete comments?

Actually, they did that for me! happy.png

I closed my account four years ago as I had to concentrate on my studies and when I asked the staffs to re-open it two weeks ago, they reopened it for me.

Actually, people close their accounts due to personal reasons and they do have the right to come back as they are neither cheaters nor spammers. That's why they do it!

but they can just make a new one

and why would you close it anyway, when you can just not go on the site?

MGleason

You might be surprised how often people close their accounts and then decide they want to come back.  Some of them do it so that they won't be tempted to come back until they're done with something they need to be spending time on.

No.  If they're delete, they're gone.

That pretty much covers it.  We can warn, mute, or kick people in live chess chat/chessTV chat.  We can see some internal admin notes (used for logging warnings, etc.), although I know there are some things that only staff can see.

There's a lot of information only staff have access to, though.

Well, I was afraid of hackers. Frankly, chess.com is not the safest site. I once met a hacker in a live chess room (FYI, chess.com used to have live chess chat rooms in the good old days which helped people to make friends and made chess.com more active) and had a private chat with him. I was surprised when he told me that he could find the password of any member in chess.com. I didn't believe him but he surprised me again by finding my password.

That's another valid reason!

Is that all? I'm still curious about that 'etc.'

We have access to our own group where we can discuss things, but I think that's pretty much it.
