Ruy Lopez patterns
Okay, this evening I'm planning to make the list of all Fischer's positions where Ruy Lopez occures!
Do you really think that every opening where a Bishop occupies a square diagonal to a Knight is Ruy Lopez, or are you joking ?
Actually, it's very easy. It should be a position containing one of the following FEN strings:
- BNQXN
- NBXQXN
- NXQNB
- NXQXBN

Atos, please read attentively my first post to understand what is true Ruy Lopez. There are 4 conditions:
- Symmetrical dQB-opening
- White knight attacking the black dQB-pawn
- Black knight defending that pawn
- White bishop attacking that black knight
If you make a PGN database, it would be a valuable resource.

Okay, let's enumerate BNQXN-positions, an example is given in my first post:
- BBNQRNKR
- BRBNQKNR
- BRKBNQRN
- RBBNQKNR
- RBNQBNKR
- RBNQKNBR
- RBNQKNRB
- RKBNQBNR
- RKBNQRNB
If U wanna an illustration of one of those Ruy Lopez games, pliz tell me.
