Great idea! The thing about Chess960 is that it takes all the stress out of Chess and players can have fun because everyone will stuff up the opening regardless of colour, race, creed or ability. It's great for discussions between players as well. If only we can get that message through to players. Chess960 is exactly the same as Chess with some humourous twists when something is overlooked.
Cheers and best wishes
I have the date (September 24). I have the location (Auburn Hills, Michigan).
All I need are players. There's the hard part.
I host tournaments at a church in Auburn Hills. My next one will be September 24. I would love to do something other than plain old Chess at those tournaments, though. My players always chuckle at my attempts to get people to play anything that isn't Chess. I did manage to get in a game of Xiangqi at my last one, so that's some progress.
So, Chess960 is my next target. If you live near Detroit, and are willing to spend ten bucks and a Saturday to play OTB Chess960, drop me a line. I'd like to see this work. I like Chess, but it's just one game. I'd prefer some variety.
