Id imagine that could take up quite a lot of time to be honest
Drop Rule set up Chess
I shall and imagine it would, but I like the blend of go stredgy (where games can take upwards of four hours to play) with chess tactics as well as the demand of insight it markely makes on the players who could theoretically lose the game all in the placement phase ^^
I don't know if its been mentioned before but what do you guys think about instead of beginning the game instead of having the standard set up the boards blank, white drops the first piece and it goes in turn until all 32 pieces and pawns are set then the game begins. Another augmentation would be when to start the clocks, at move 1 of the drop phase, move 1 of the game phase or both with either total time or seperate.
