How to set up a 4 Player Chess game to play with your friends
What if names don't appear
Sometimes they fail to load, so just delete, wait one second and then type again.
Typing one character at a time often helps as well.
this isn't working, names aren't appearing at all, the online invite and game creation system is roached
I want our Grade 11 students to play 4PC as part of their PE class. Is there a more thorough resource that covers game settings? How do time controls work? Is there no challenge link for 4PC?

The 4pc club will cover most of this. There's no challenge link, but it's simple once you've played a few games and learn how the UI works.
Apr/12/2023 EDIT - It is different now to set it up:
4 Player Chess has recently moved to Variants/4PC, so it's different now.
It should be way easier however, I moved around a bit with the new config and it looks like you only need a few steps to set up a game with your friends.
Should set it to "Casual" and then begin inviting peeps you wanna play with.
You can also pick a particular color for each one and there are some more cool stuff to choose from.
Below is an old tutorial, not relevant anymore. Please disconsider.
1. Go to the 4 Player Chess page and click New Game.
2. Click Custom.
3. To invite your friends, the game must be set to Casual.
Tick the Invite players box, then click the big orange Invite button.
Note: your friends must also be on the 4 Player Chess page.
4. Their usernames will be shown on the list as you type.
Type one username, wait for it to appear then click it. Repeat for all usernames.
5. Once you have invited all four players and have designated their colors, a new button will appear so that you are able to start the game. Have fun!
