To use a custom image (i.e. an image not present in the directory where the other pieces are), you must upload the image, and use the URL of its location in the HTML description of the Diagram, with the color prefix replaced by a % sign.

In the Minjiku Shogi Interactive Diagram I use a custom image for the Fire Dragon (an animated GIF). The definition looks like this:

The velocityraptor/accellaraptor

Has x and y velocity. When it moves, it can take up to 8 'turns'. Each turn, you change the x and y velocity by a number between -1 and 1, and the x and y can be changed by two different numbers. After that, it changes its rank by the x velocity and its file by the y velocity (relative to what side you are). Its turns immediately are all used up if it captures a piece. It cannot legally pass over edges or pieces, but if its x and y veocities are BOTH 0 and it lands on an opposing piece, then it captures that piece. It is finished moving when all its turns are used up.

wall: able to move everywhere on the board except for occupied squares. the wall may not take or be taken. the wall can only move once per game.

juggernaut: moves like a queen, but it can't stop moving until it is blocked by a piece, reaches the boards edge, or takes an enemy piece. the juggernaut may castle.
