India is the home of the old meme "he's over qualified for blue collar so has to drive a taxi" because indian general education is world class and a massive amount of Indians go into further study. Of course that doesn't explain exactly why india people are good at chess but explains a little.
Why are players from india so good
I mean, chess did start in India with the game of Chaturanga, so that could have something to do with it. (I'm sure there are also other factors, but this could be one, I think).
The game was introduced to southern Europe in the tenth century by the Arabs, but it is not known where exactly it was invented. It derives from shatranj or chatrang, which is itself the Persian version of chaturanga from classical India. The current rules were established at the end of the 15th century. Chess is one of the most popular puzzle games in the world.
In daily chess India has 61 players with a rating of 2000 and over and USA has an amazing 617 players with a ratiing of 2000 and over.
Because they're all flocking to the chessboards after watching India get thrashed by Australia in the cricket.
I played against a guy who started playing chess 3 days ago
How would you know that?
Because he said he started chess a little while ago, I checked his profile, his got his chess account 3 days ago, that doesn't necessarily mean he just started chess, but there's a very high chance that he is a newer player
There's a large number of indian chess prodigies rising up - no doubt they're planning on taking over!
They're not. In fact I would argue quite the opposite. They do make up about 1/5 of the world's population so you're bound to have at least one Indian who can play chess (but then you get 100k for every one of those who'd be better off playing checkers).
Also, you can't judge their level of skill by the age of their account. They may have been playing OTB for years and have now created an online account. It may be their umpteenth account already,...

I know. I dont know why people think we are so good. The only thing I am good at Is puzzles, Where I am 1700, But I am terrible In normal chess. Just because we invented Chess dosen't mean we will be absolutely dominating it. I bet any of you guys could beat me in a chess game, not in puzzles though.
I played against a guy who started playing chess 3 days ago, his flag said he was from india and he beat me on time once, we had a rematch, I won one, and then another rematch and he beat me, but all three of the games were really close and good though, Indian players just have magical chess powers or something
