Kasparov
Who is the better chess player, Kasparov or Carlsen?
I would have to say Kasparov, but maybe I'm biased. I have the three volume series, "Kasparov on Kasparov" detailing his games throughout his career and "My Predecessors", both by Garry Kasparov as well as a few other books on Kasparov's Tactics. I also have a few other books on Bobby Fischer as well as other players. I haven't gotten around to getting a book on Magnus Carlson e.g. "My 60 memorable games" yet but I will later this year. The point is, I'm more familiar with Kasparov than I am with Carlson. Sorry for the long comment. First time I've posted on here.
kasparov is around 20 years older than carlsen and he didnt have access to engines like stockfish.
Kasparov is 26 years older than Carlsen.
Anand is around 20 years older than Carlsen.
honestly i think Carlsen and Kasparov are of equal stance, but i think the real best player here is mittens
lol
Kasparian for sure. In my opinion, Carlsen is quite arrogant, and I feel like he does not respect anybody to some degree. Kasparian was a much better player, both in play style and in his attitude. Also, he is the best Armenian player to have ever existed, so bonus points for that.
It's not about whether you like them or not. It's about who is/was the better player. And they don't get bonus points for coming from a particular country either.
I think he meant bonus points as into vote of which is better. If he thinks Kasparov is more friendly and can add up to his vote, he can push in his opinion. That’s what I think
good point thou, it does mainly depend on who was the better player
As the says goes: Better a tamed Lion than a free Gorilla in the city!! Kasparov knows to tear off a FIDE goat even-though in chains but Carlsen can climb the Tree!!
Is the forum section of chess.com even complete? Forums are generally for discussions, not drop-offs. Where's the sections to reply to players answering the question?
Garry Kasparov is not dead and if he decides to play games against Magnus Carlsen in the long term it will be Magnus Carlsen the best imo
