Hikaru Nakamura is better than Magnus Carlsen?
Disadvantages: Carlsen is great at slow chess and takes his time.
Advantages: Nakamura is a quick thinker and fast player. Due to the fast timing, Carlsen would not be able to think very much.

Carlsen is blitz champion.

Carlsen is blitz champion.
No point arguing with naka fans, they are sort of blind followers

Yes lol. I was thinking that they just watch Hikaru’s streams. The depressing thing is that they were 1700 blitz and don’t know anything about Carlsen, and just blindly follow Nakamura.
Hikaru is an awesome chess player.
But I believe he's ranked in the top 30 or top 20 at this moment regarding classical.
And he's ranked Second for blitz. Sooooo no, at this moment he's not better then Magnus
FIDE has a years-long process of qualifying tournaments and matches to select the challenger for a match vs the world champion. Magnus Carlsen has successfully gone through this process and become world champion, then defended his title. Nakamura has not. Should he succeed in the next cycle, then he can be considered as better than Carlsen.
Hikaru is only good at bullet and blitz ...
Hikaru is a super grandmaster in classical, too.
For perspective:
- Titled masters are the top 1% of all chess players.
- Grandmasters are the top 1% of all titled masters.
- Super grandmasters (like Hikaru) are the top 1% of all grandmasters.
Yes, Magnus is the undisputed king of the hill. His accomplishments speak for themselves.
But give Hikaru credit where credit is due ...
Yes, Hikaru is a stellar player. Great skill. But... The Magster is better than Hikaru at classical, rapid, blitz, aaaand bullet, even 960. Not only in real over the board play but even in online competition too. They've played many blitz & bullet games right here on chess.com. Anybody can look the results up. The Magster is likely better in rock/paper/scissors, badminton, & connect 4 too.
