I played on yahoo a long time finally got tired of all the bashing and cheating. I played on several other sites but some seem to use old technology and have very little in the way of the community that chess.com has. One has so many chat rooms many were empty including a chat room for every state. None have as good teaching tools as chess.com. Several say they monitor for people using sw, one encourages if you use sw you have to have it noted. But another site has a ton of GM's which I don't necessarily want to play against at my level. One site has music. But when I played it the music was nothing I liked. So I turned it and the site off.

Erik has a real gem here. The ease of use, the clean look and the number of members with a great community makes this site number one.

Nope, this site is terrible. I bought a premium membership just so I wouldn't have to wait for ads before hopping on the forums to complain. So much chess, so many features.... it's disgusting.
