The dutch defense is 1. d4 f5. Not 1. e4 f5.
So... yeah.
unless a group consensus wants otherwise, i ll make the time controls 3 days per move, white will challenge black with "Dutch Defense Tournament" as the name of the game, and the games may be rated or not, depending on what both opponents would like.
I have five so far, and I play that will make six, so I need at least two more, or three.
I use it all the time... I'll play.
It produces great games but you really have to know what you're doing, you break several openining 'rules' in a few lines.
edit - I forgot.. 1790 rating.okay i have set up the quads, and the first pairings. i tried to mix up the ratings so everyone would have a game against an equally rated opponent and then one with a point difference, so there will be a chance for upsets. also that way the winners of each quad can play against each other.
the first quad is
cosmin
chesslover96
abhijit121
dutchdefense
the 2nd,
colle-pirc
hicetnunc
ih8sens
huppeltrtu
the first matches will be:
abhijit121 - cosmin
dutchdefense - chesslover96
colle-pirc - hicetnunc
huppeltrtu - ih8sens
everyone may start off the match as soon as you like, and please post the results when you are finished with the first match here, and i ll put up the second match pairings.
thanks again and everyone good luck and have fun!
I would like to organize a quad system tournament where the two players each play 1. d4 as white and respond to 1. d4 with ...f5, the Dutch Defense. It is a dangerous yet aggressive counter attack and leads to great games, in my opinion. However I don't know many players who use it. So, if you would like to play just leave a message here and I will figure out who to play against by rating. If I can find four, I'll just use four for the quads, and have everyone play each other. If I can get eight, I'll make two seperate quads and have the two winners play each other. If you'd like to play leave a post with your rating and I'll set things up and PM everyone once I am ready. I will play if it evens out a quad. Thanks, I hope people have fun with this and feel free to ask questions.
