Knockout Gold Membership tournament!!!
Answer me this, if it's your first tournament how do you have a rating of 15000?!
Also, how the hell do you have a USCF rating?! Says you're from England mate, get your stories straigh.
Hi all! I just got platinum therefore I have one gold membership to give away, so I decided to make a tournament and the winner will be awared with the membership!.
There are just one rule to signup: Only basic members will be allowed to signup to the tournament. (Why? Well, if you can pay for a month, you can pay for twelve months, so sorry silver members...)
Now, the rules of the tournament:
1. Knockout tournament, if you lose then you're out!.
2. The player with the higher rating will be black in each game.
3. 32 players, 5 rounds.
4. 3 days time control.
5. In case of a draw, there will be a rematch with switched colors. If the game is draw again, then the player with the lower rating will be the winner of the game and therefore will go to the next round (or win the tournament if it's the final match).
6. The only valid rating will be the one that you have at the moment you signup for the tournament. And that rating will be used for pairing and that will be the rating that will determine the winner in case of a draw (see rule 5).
7. All game will be rated games.
The first 32 players to signup in this post will fight for a free gold membership!
Post your user and rating here. When I got the 32 players I will post the pairing table.
I agree. We need to know. How are we paired ?
Good question, I'm wondering how he will pair players, too.
"For the first round, you can pair the players randomly. Another way, more complicated but leading to better results, is to first rank all players present according to their estimated strength (if available, ELO or GLYCKO ranking are extremely valuable for this). The best pairing is then to pair the first half against the second half (i.e. the first player of the first half plays against the first player of the second half, the second of the first against the second of the second, and so on…)." --- Tournament Organization Principles
Perhaps the top half could be paired with the bottom half (i.e. the highest rated plays #17, #2 vs. #18 etc.) to reward players with a high rating like in official chess tournaments.
