It's really up to you - you can make it best of four or something. However, playing just one game with random colours would be fine too.
Another thought is the person that came first can chose their colour in the match.
Obviously if it is a draw play again with opposite colours, until a result is reached.

I'm playing in a tournament with 7 players which I have created here on Chess.com.
There will be only one winner but, to make the tournament more exciting, we were thinking about a big match between first and second classified, which will be played "live".
I was thinking at a good way to organize it, trying to make the final match balanced.
Unfortunately, I don't know the official rules for the single matches.
Could you please help me?
I guess it's necessary to play an even number of games, so that first and second players can move once with black and once with white; am I wrong?
Anyways, you are certainly more experienced than me, so please give some suggestions!
