The Commack Public Library hosts a Chess Club every SECOND and FOURTH Tuesday of the month at 7pm. The Library is located at 18 Hauppauge Road, Commack. You do NOT need to be a member to play. Play is open to everyone.

Hello,

My 17 year old son is looking for a club. We are located in Riverhead. He is a member of the chess club in school and would like to join something outside of school. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe Ulysses Tapley still coaches out on the East End, and works with the chess clubs in Bridgehampton and Southampton.

The Bellport Chess Club is for kids, ages 6-18, but plans to expand to include adults starting in January 2024.We have been running recreational and instructional chess programs for youth since 2014. Games are not rated. Coaches include me, my wife Debbie, and Rich Green, who coached at Bellport High School for over 25 years.

We meet three Saturdays a month, 12-2 pm, within the boundaries of the South Country School District, but we don't restrict membership geographically.

We have a Facebook group, mostly for parents, mostly for announcements, schedule and location updates and pictures, whatever...

If you have any questions, email me at Topcoach345 at Gmail dot com

Hello Jason,

Thanks so much for the information. My son would be interested. Are you meeting tomorrow?

Hi dgkm123,

I'm sorry I missed your message. I didn't see it until tonight. Yes, we had chess today. We meet again next Saturday, and then our next meeting will be Sept. 9th.

Hey, I am 17 as well (going to be a senior in the fall) and am part of a chess club located in Ronkonkoma, open to anyone at any level. Meets Saturdays at 10, with good turnout, as well as prizes. All games are USCF rated, and it's a professional venue dedicated to our club. Our tournament director is renowned and known as one of the best in the state and even the country, having previously worked at the famous Marshall Chess Club, in downtown Manhattan. We of course have a website, and if you have any questions, you could e-mail our director at [email protected]. Thanks!

We have a club at the Riverhead Library on Mondays from 5:45 to 7:45. Many of the Riverhead HS chess club members attend. I just gave a lesson to one of his team mates a few days ago.

@chess2Knights is this still happening? I am in Baiting Hollow and would love to come down.
