The idea is to use the correspondence (online chess)to SIMULATE a Long timed game ("OTB like") without schedule issues. It fits the need of people that can't play a LONG live game and keep playing blitz that does not help to improve.
Until chess.com help in this, the idea is to play in the "online setting", against trustworthy people that do agree to not cheat, not use database (as in OTB games DB is not used and to write down his reflexion time for each move in the chat window). So, if the game was agreed to be a 2 hour per player one, the players will measure their reflexion time and KEEP all the game in the scheduled clock time.Offcourse that we can not check if the opponent is doing like this but trust is needed in LIVE online games also.
To keep the things as simple as possible, counting from 5 to 5 seconds needs JUST a table clock.
I did almost 20 games in this way and it was the most instructional experience I had in chess.com so far.
I've already played more than 20 games in this way with GREAT sucess (better than ONLINE and Bullet/Blitz way of playing).I've founded a small team to promote this idea. The foruns are public so, even without entering (to play) it's possible to read more about our "experiment".
