There is quite a lot that you can learn for free with the Chessable Short and Sweet courses, but my main recommendation is YouTube.

Some content creators with good content on openings (and other good chess content):

  • IM Miograg Perunovic (The Butcher)
  • GM Moulthun Ly (Molton)
  • IM Levy Rozman (Gothamchess)
  • IM Eric Rosen
  • IM Andras Toth (ChessCoach Andras)
  • GM Simon Williams (Ginger GM)
  • GM Daniel Naroditsky
  • IM Alex Banzea
  • Stjepan Tomic (Hanging Pawns)
  • GM Igor Smirnov (Remote Chess Academy)
  • IM Sagar Shah (Chessbase India)

Thanks for this. I was also looking for the same. I already follow some of these channels. Out of all these Danya's channel tops my list! Highly recommended!

You should use Chessable. There are many free courses for openings, with really good explanations. As a start, after creating your account and these things I recommend looking for "Short and Sweet", which are small opening courses with good explanations. There's usually a paid version to them but the free part is more than enough for anyone who isn't a titled player

Mr_Mathematician

Chess.com daily videos are too good , but for really good in chess, must do good puzzles
