Najdorf
What do you think is the most theoretical opening in all of chess
The Sicilian Najdorf is a good theoretical opening that requires a great deal of "book" knowledge to play it. I also like the Spanish, even though everyone has played it some times, it has a great elite richness.
There are a number of candidates:
Najdorf Sicilian
Kings Indian Defense Mar Del Plata
Nimzo-Indian Defense Rubinstein Variation (4.e3)
Closed Ruy Lopez
Exchange QGD
Exchange Grunfeld
French Winawer
The Botvinnik System is not "Theoretical". It is just a bunch of forced draw lines with no flexibility. You will play these 40 moves and shake hands or your King will die.
That's not theory. That's just playing a forced line. Nothing theroretical about it. Simply proven.
Dragon is the same way.

But Botvinnik system, if we are talking about exchange Qgd, can get interesting
Idk
Scotch Game ig?
Or Jobava London System
You just said it, SYSTEM, so it has no theory
There are a number of candidates:
Najdorf Sicilian no question
Kings Indian Defense Mar Del Plata No question
Nimzo-Indian Defense Rubinstein Variation (4.e3) I don't think this is that theoretical
Closed Ruy Lopez No question
Exchange QGD I guess?
Exchange Grunfeld No question
French Winawer Only poisoned pawn in my opinion
Clearly you do not have French Experience. The 7...O-O line has just as much theory as the Poisoned Pawn. 7...Kf8 is loaded with theory. A third with a TON of theory is the Portisch-Hook (6...Qa5 7.Bd2 Qa4). The last that is high in theory is 7.h4.
The 7...Nf5, 7.Nf3, 7.a4, 5...Ba5, and 4.Qg4 lines are not theory-riddled like the other lines are.

The Botvinnik System is not a QGD line. It is in the Semi-Slav.

I was referring to Qg4 as a whole not just when the pawn in sacked
Well, you still left out 7.h4 and the Portisch-Hook.
I know what I think mine is but I want to take a vote
What do YOU think is the most theoretical opening line?
I don't think just saying "Sicilian" counts, only specific sicilian lines count.
