3. ... c6 has never been considered, it is actually a dangerous weapon for black
The Santa Claus Opening
@Arcieus
Very interesting variation you are showing.
You are suggesting a new defense!
Woooot
What should we call it?
True. Maybe d3?
Yeah I have tryed 5.Bd3 and 5.Ne2.
However, maybe 5.d3 can be called the Christmas Tree variation?
5.d3 can be the Xmas tree variation. Other one(the gambit one) can be called the Xmas tree gambit.
Here is what I was doing against the move 4...Bb4!
Well since you guys are here what do you guys think?
Check this out.
Yeah I have played both Bd3 and Ne2.
I don't know which move is better.
However, I think both moves have some merit maybe.
I suppose the pawn push d3 could be played as well.
To defend the e4 pawn.
Bd3 is best, it seems. Then you follow up with Nd5.
The snowman defence, so called because the black bishops on e7, e6 and the black pawn on e5 makes a snowman. Nf3 is main line and Ne2 is attack line
