His opening always involves a sac.
The Santa Claus Opening
Well, you have to have the opening involve a wee bit of a punch to it as well...
Well we can add different variations.
We can call one line the Reindeer Gambit!
For example:
Kings Pawn Game/The Santa Claus Attack/Reindeer Gambit Variation
Yeah we can add to it for sure!
Goood Job Newengland7
That is the spirit.
Yeah the move 2...f5 is a playable move.
Yeah we should talk about it.
The Grinch Defense
The Grinch tryed to steal Christmas and so the move 2...Nf6 is trying to steal the e4 pawn!!!
Newengland7 you bring a very good point.
If our opponents play the move 2...f5 than maybe what if we take the pawn?
Yeah I will take everyone's suggestions!
I will try to put it in an article so that way people can try and play this line for fun on Christmas!
How does that sound?
If Black plays the move 2...f5
I think white should maybe play 3.exf5
I think black will have to follow up with 3...Nf6
We are threatening Qh5+
So the move 3...Nf6 would defend the check.
This position here seems very interesting and playable.
The line you mention is very interesting as well Newengland7
In this position I do not think they can take the e4 pawn.
If they take the e4 pawn than maybe we can win.
The good thing which makes this work is the fact the e4 pawn is a black pawn.
Black can't counter attack.
Yeah we can consider this an Opening trap.
Good Job Newengland7.
We have to give it a Christmas name.
The Elf Trap?
The Reindeer Trap?
I don't know we got to think of something for sure.
I play chess with Santa when he's not too busy. He plays the Orangutan and the Polish. He nearly always pushes the b-pawn. Once in a while, though, he'll push the g-pawn, such as in response to 1.c4.
Could someone using this forum please help me out. I have posted a forum called philidor's openings and I need some help. This opening is great and I plan to use it in tournament chess! 👍
Looks like some people are hitting the egg nog already. Surely one of you chess geniuses can show us the elven (also known as elfen) gambit?
Today on December 24, 2015.
I bring sad news.
On this christmas eve one which should be filled with enjoy!
I bring the sad truth!
The Chess Community does not have a Opening for Christmas!
Let the text in red sink into your soul!
We as a chess community can not afford to let christmas pass once again with out a Christmas chess opening!
What is even more disturbing is Halloween has 2 openings!
The Halloween Gambit & The Frankenstein-Dracula Variation
1,000 years of chess if not more and we have not made a Christmas Chess Opening?
We have failed Santa!
If Santa wasn't so jolly and nice he would curse us out!
So what did I do lady's and gentlemen?
I went on a search!
I searched databases hoping to find a line which doesn't have name.
Than it happened I found one!
Check this out lady's and gentlemen.
See what you think!
I tryed to find a Christmas Opening in the most Classical chess opening.
What is more Classical than making a christmas line after 1.e4 e5?
Our forefathers have done christmas wrong for not naming a christmas opening!
They have done Santa wrong!
Today will be out salvation!
Allow me to introduce you to the:
Kings Pawn Game/The Santa Claus Attack
I looked in 3 different Opening databases.
The first 2 databases gave no mention of these moves.
The last database I looked at gave the following description.
King Pawn Opening/Not Named
1.e4 e5 2.b3
It was not named!
It was not named and we shall give it a name!
Kings Pawn Game/The Santa Claus Attack
1.e4 e5 2.b3
Instead of attacking the e5 pawn directly with 2.Nf3 we are playing the move 2.b3 with the idea of putting our dark bishop on b2 so it attacks the e5 pawn!
We can make the Modern Theory of the Santa Claus Opening today!
We still have time!
