In my database, this is what you get:
And here I stopped. This occurred in 2806 out of 1121542 games. I stopped here because ...Be7 and ...Nbd7 are equally popular.
No, I don't play this from either side.

According to 365chess.com the most common chessgame played is (or well, that´s not actually true, but it´s the game you get if you allways click the most common response.)
1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3 a6 6. Be2 e5 7. Nb3 Be7 8. O-O O-O 9. Kh1 b6 10. Be3 Bb7 11. f3 b5 12. a4 b4 13. Nd5 Nxd5 14. exd5 Nd7 15. c4 bxc3 16. bxc3 Bg5 17. Bf2 Qc7 18. c4 Rab8 19. a5
After which it petters out into 5 different games.
I believe their database is somewhere between 2.5 to 3 million games.
I feel like this wouldn't get accurate results.
I.e. what if
4. f3 is the most popular move, but the next moves are equal at 50%, but
4. f4 is the 2nd most popular move, and it's response is 100% exf4.
See the problem with doing this?
I was asking almost the same thing and I am trying again now.

This seemed like a good place to ask this question. The most common first move is e4, but what's the most common reply to that, and so and and so on. What is the most common first 10 moves? Or 20 or 30, however far the line goes. I'd also like to know the name of that opening. Do you guys play this opening?
