If you go to www.wikipedia.com and type in queen's gambit or scandinavian defense you should get detailed explanations. They begin 1.d4 d5 2.c4 and 1.e4 d5 respectively.
To the original poster, the day before a tournament?! Wow, good luck! If you go to www.chesskids.com you can get the 15-minute version of several openings. :)
What is everyone's best or favorite chess openings? I'm wondering b/c I need suggestions for the tournament I'm going to tomorrow...
