It's an open secret those tests can be gamed if you train hard on them and parents that prepare kids heavily spoil the test.

As his mother was highly into education I can imagine she may have done that to help him. Of course that high shows outstanding intelligence anyway - but I'd much rather take his chess performance as evidence of his high intelligence.
