Chess Opening Flowchart

Sort:
AdmiralAdama99

I've been studying openings and I created a flowchart of the major chess openings. Figured I'd share. Leave a comment if the flowchart helps you and you want me to keep developing it : )

Chart is in PDF format. Zoom in to view. ==> PDF <==

Made in Microsoft Visio. Here's the original file if you want to modify it. Please leave my name and email address in there, and post a link to your version in this thread so we can check it out. ==> Visio VSD <==

Whoa.  This is pretty cool.  I like your thoughtful organization.  I bet it helps.

Recently, I have been wanting to do this same thing ... only with graphics showing each move on the board for visual presentation. I thought it would make a cool wall poster. I play 1.d4 2.c4 and thought it would be cool to have an opening chart / tree. Great chart!

How did you create this?
chamo2074

Can I take it and make it more detailed?

nacnuddnalerb

I would love to see it broken up into separate pages based on the first move. Then it would be easier to print. Good job on a fine flowchart, though!

I added the Microsoft Visio VSD file today. Feel free to make modifications. Just leave my name and email in there, and post a link to your version in this thread so we can see your changes.

I'm not active on here anymore, so send me an email if you need anything. Email is in the PDF. Thanks and enjoy.

For all though who are lucky to stumble into this thread, he also made an Anki deck to make it even better  . search chess opening on Anki site to find it.

Please do not unnecessarily bump Chess.com forum topics. Thank you.

His post was not unnecessary, there's nothing wrong with reasonable bumps.

Erenzaybay - went to the Anki site could not find a place to search.  I did sign up for an account. Could you give further details as to how to get the deck?  Thanks

AdminralAdama99 - very nice, thanks.

yet it would have been so much easier to do and compact in tree form.

I've developed a website from this chart. https://enkk.me/openings happy.png
