my favorite excerp from the game's annotations
NN would Later move on to Normal chess where he had a less than Lackluster carrer
How about variation of Hammerschlag 1.f3 e5 2. Kf2?
dont forgot about 1.f3 e5 2.g4?? Qh4#
well then Black would get there on the same move, and therefore should officially be drawn because Each took 26 moves to get to the other side, white only got there first because White always goes first. But under today's rules, it would be won by white
hmmm........ i see now.
so what's your general strategy? i like to take a hypermodern approach: advance the king one rank, push the enemy king back, then advance to victory!
just to confirm, jetfighter: this type of strategy is allowed for your tournament, right? I still tried to make an active effort to advance my king, just after I had tied up the opposing king. Similar to the hypermoderns, who established a center after destroying their opponents.
Exactly, just look at the the last comment on the tournoment page, that should answer your questions, also There should be your opponent, remember one game as black and one as white. GL oh and I plan on using the Tried and true Open Bongcloud.
Ohh! I got one!
Bongcloud, Castled Variation
1. e4
2. Nf3
3. Bc4
4. 0-0
5. h3
6. Kh2!
White devoleps the king on the edge, keeping it away from the center where there are more peices to block it's path!
Wait, I think I remember that Line from a game between Bongnavik and Cokhail Tal
It may take me some time to find in my extensive library
Bongcloud: Castled Variation; Queenside attack:
1. d4
2. Nc3
3. Bf5
4. Qd2
5. 0-0-0
6. b3
7. Kb2
8. a4
How about that?
Bongnavik misses on 21.c6. c6 loses 3/4 of a tempi...minimum. A sharper reply would have been...
21.....Bxf2 nudging the rook to?
22. Rg3 Bxh4 extending the combination and weakening whites hold on the g file, to be followed with
23.....Bg5!+ and a nice jam freeing blacks king from the h file.
moonlight, your variation is wonderful, thanks for sharing.
