It is hard to properly pinpoint it without insulting one group or the other, so comparing it to other parts of the LGBTQ+ community is the best you can do. But so far, the science surrounding trans people seems to accept that gender dysphoria is a real thing, with most psychological fields and the WHO as examples.

They aren't comparable lol. It'd be like saying "I've not met a murderer yet but I just assume all are mentally ill". You can have an opinion on transgenderism but I don't think you can just claim Trans people are "mentally ill" when you've got no expertise and haven't met any of these people.
