I agree honestly but there are levels to it that dont exist in other games a fully grown adult may never pass 1500 and its not like you are using reaction time (except for shorter time controls obviously) chess is kind of mysterious. Its a game but sometimes i do find myself thinking harder than i ever would playing any other games on console for instance. Maybe cards is a good comparison (solitaire). There does seem to be something different about chess than other games i cant quite put my finger on it. Alot of the openings are regurgitations, thats true. I think its just classy. I dont really know.

honestly..chess is tough! it takes time to learn something new you haven't done before.
in my experience , I still suck at chess at times. but its just a game! no biggie for me 
though, its not easy as u loose to chess. some are even toxic as they win from you. its going to be always there for everyone. but tbh- its alright, you will get over it overtime
