well, I think it is worth it. this site is awesome. you get more features and benefits from the site. the funds also help keep chess.com going, which is why i personally have a membership. What they ask for in membership fees is what most Americans, including myself, waste on fancy coffee and fast food in the matter of 2-3 days. To me, the question was, did I want crappy near-food with fries, or did I want an awesome chess community site i could go on.
Is it worth it?
Well, I went ahead and got a Diamond membership. I must say the site DOES load a lot faster now without the ads, and I'm looking forward to going through the chess mentor, and watching more than three minutes of a video :D
I'm considering upgrading to a Diamond membership, to have the unlimited access to the chess mentor. I went through the demo mentor account and found it to be very helpful (albeit a year ago).
I guess my question is, beyond the demo account, does the chess mentor continue to accel in difficulty, or does it flat-line eventually?
I want to know if it's worth it to spend the extra money to go with the diamond account, or if I should just stick to a platinum account for now. I'd really like to become a chess-master, since I've always found the game intriguing (been playing for many years now, and haven't lost interest).
Please help me make a decision :)
