Which is in your opinion the best learning resource out of these 2?

kirkland

well i was learning with both really sometimes the sound quality isnt all that on the videos but both offer some good stuff i need to upgrade for mentor

SirDonald

I think both are great. I favor chess mentor, however, as you can complete a lesson in minutes. So, if you can only dedicate a few minutes here and there to your chess study, then chess mentor, tactical trainer and the computer workout are ideal. When you have more time for a session, you can absorb an interesting chess video. Happy studying!

Videos are so much better

I think they are both equally good. It just depends on how you like to study: by text or by video.

Thanks. I'd have to say video. So I guess I'll focus on the videos!

Both are quite good. Depends what works best for you. I use both.

SirDonald gives a great explanation.  Just saying "this one is the best" without an explanation doesn't help the reader.  SirDonald is correct, the videos are long and you must have time.  Much easier than reading a chess book because of the inter-activeness of the chess board.  But, of course, less detail available.

hicetnunc is also right.  Some people learn better in different modes (and do you want to earn/risk points is another consideration).

I joined as a diamond member two days ago after using the free membership stuff.  Due to a pending surgery, I have time on my hands.  I have learned a LOT from both the videos and the mentor. But that is only opinion.  SirEdward did the explaining.
