Repeating Lessons

In the support pages, it says here:

https://support.chess.com/article/284-how-do-lessons-work

"NOTE: Lesson counts reset each week on Sunday at midnight. Repeating the same lesson does count toward your total lessons for that week. "

But I am trying to repeat a lesson and the pop up tells me to upgrade. Closing the popup upgrade message does not give any option to repeat lessons. I am not able to repeat the lesson that I did this week or any completed previously. No repetition of any lesson is possible at all.

Is what is in the support pages wrong (not true), or is this a bug?

I am confused.  When your lesson total for the week has been met, that's it.  Reviews count just like a new lesson.   If you are saying you haven't exceeded your total for the week and it won't let you review, then yes something is wrong.  I always start with a cache clear of the browser when things go south; often it works!

But it literally says in the support article that what you say is not the case. The quote in my original post is from the support information: '... Repeating the same lesson does not count toward your total lessons for that week.'

I have one lesson a week on my free account, as I understand it. It will not let me repeat this lesson (yes I have used my one lesson for the week) or any of the ones I have completed previously.

Are you saying that I must repeat old lessons before I do any new one or I will be locked out for the week?

Later Edit: My mistake. Repeating lessons do count against your lesson allowance. I misread the information.

Oh gawd. My mistake. I see now that my brain added that word 'not.'

The quote from the support article is:

Repeating the same lesson does count toward your total lessons for that week.

That's a shame.

In your defense, it is awkwardly written...wink.png

But yeah, you really should be able to review past lessons for free.  That's just needless penny pinching.

Babbington

I don't think the pricing is well thought out at all, but I'm not sure I'd say 'penny pinching.'

As a new player (playing chess for the first time in many years) I am in need of tuition, but I don't think I would benefit from many high level videos. So for me a platinum membership will not let me repeat lessons as much as I need, but a diamond membership will cost twice as much and will include a lot of content that is probably too advanced for me.

I was about to pull the trigger on a platinum membership, but now I find that repeating lessons will deplete my weekly allowance of 5 lessons... Well, it's considerably less attractive a deal.

I will pause to consider.

I like my diamond, but then I'm a binge learner and on a good (or bad) day, I can knock out 20 or more lessons.  Limits would drive me even crazier...wink.png
