I have one of these and just noticed the left side pushes down much easier then the right. Mine is tamped "Mostrust" on the front. I'm going to send it back since that offers an unfair advantage to the player on the left.
YS-902 chess clock review
Isn't that a rebrand of the "Leap" or "Wholesalechess" clocks? (Note: Wholesalechess, USCF Sales, and House of Staunton are the same company).
These clocks are hit and miss, as well as the PS-1688 clock that has several clones going around. The left and right plungers can be different tension (This could be caused by improper strength magnets, I haven't seen a disassembled clock, maybe check youtube), but I did check one of these clocks, and the circuit that determines whether the left or right side is pushed triggers instantly after a certain point in travel. On the PS-1688 clocks, some bad samples can be VERY imbalanced--the circuit that switches the clock is sometimes almost completely at the very end of the travel for one side! This can cause erratic and double activations (two clocks from amazon, from the same batch, had this defect!). I checked another user's PS-1688 at a tournament, but his was right in the middle, so it was fine.
The DGT 2500 has a "neutral" setting, where in the middle of lever travel, the status is "Neutral" (this shows up in the clocks' test diagnostic mode as "---" in the middle, rather than left side L and right side L (lever press). Then when you move it a bit off neutral to either side, it activates. Making it very consistent and reliable (besides differences in the rare magnet strength affecting plunger tension, as this uses a stronger magnet, which I haven't seen in the older DGT 3000, 2010, Easy or North American versions).
Try taking out the batteries and putting them back in. I had a similar problem and that seemed to work for me. If that doesn't work then try sending it back to wherever you bought them from. I hope you can fix it
