I believe that’s the name Chess Schach gave to one of his restorations of this set. I’ve since learned this pattern is called the Ukrainian Grandmaster chess set. House of Staunton also sells a reproduction.
I’ve seen this same design several times, and each time they’re attributed to Ukraine. But none of the sellers has mentioned their name. What is this design known as?
This particular set is apparently from the ’70s.
