I'm not a huge fan of the pieces, but I *love* the photos. Well done as always and thanks for sharing!

Hah! The chess pieces were included free with a vintage Drueke board purchase. I agree, the Barracuda Knights are not everyone's cup of tea.
Here's a photo highlighting the depth of color and grain of the Rosewood dark pieces:
The knights remind me of Alien.
It's almost like Drueke asked the carver to take a boring German Knight and make it as evil looking as possible. Hah!
Dude, the pieces are awesome, and playable even under low light.
But spring for a Drueke board for Fischer's sake!
It's like serving Filet Mignon on paper plates!

Today is a vintage Drueke chess set kind of day for me. 3.75" King. Made from Rosewood and Boxwood. I'm pretty sure it's Rosewood from the pores. Most likely manufactured in India. Judging by the quality of the box and the grade of Walnut, the box may have been manufactured at the Drueke factory. Not sure. Note the refined battlements on the Rook tops. Nice overall proportions to the set. Although the Knight is a bit psychopathic, it definitely is recognizable from afar. Hah! Enjoy.
