Using a smartboard with chess.com against the computer

Hello everyone,

I'm using a DGT smartboard and I managed to connect it to my macbook. On chess.com I can choose to use it when I play a online game (a click on the small settings wheel allows me to activate it) but i miss the same option against the computer. I'd like to use the board when playing against the bots. Any tipps?

I would like to reactivate this post. Also use a DGT Smartboard with a Mac. On Lichess I can play against a bot, but not on Chess.com.
Why is not possible ?!

Hello i would also be able to play all the bots on chess.com with my DGT board. I dont understand why it still impossible ????????????????????? I pay every year the full abonnement and this fonction is always not activated. It will be very essential i think to train against a bot on DGT for a club player !

sorry, no solution from me, i also missing this option.

I play with my DGT Board via the app WhitePawn against the computer, engine Stockfish. (i had to buy a android tablet, because i couldnt connect to my ipad... for whatever reason).

Yes this is sad because i think the bots here in chess.com are more enjoyable than the stockfish bots. I like to play the bots here without time and if we can play like that on the DGT  board it will be very usefull before we play a competitive game in the club.

Hi all, same request from here. Does anyone know where to raise requirements? Perhaps chess.com developers don 't follow this topic?

Maybe If we are enough we can send a lot of emails.

Or making a video on youtube or asking  the help to a youtuber like GothamChess he work for chess.com now i think. Or somone else ?

I believe these functions are purposely not supported by design.  If the DGT Smartboard had these functions then it would largely render the Pegasus and Centaur redundant and obsolete. 

I noticed this with the more expensive DGT Bluetooth eboard having no phone app support although Pegasus does have it. 

Maybe they have an agrement.

i don’t think any other smart board supports this at the moment. I’ve played against the bots using my chessnut air it works fine.

Would be great! In the meanwhile I already sent an email to Chessnutech to confirm this, also regarding their view on future ability to support playing againgst the Chess.com bots.

If Chessnut is compatible with the bots so why not my hold DGT board ? Why do i have to spend 200€ to buy an new electronic board because CHESS.COM not alow this fonction this is not fair.

How : i go to "help" then "ask a question" then i send my question and i saw "Contact" and then there you can send a message with your email. 

They have also in the "Help" the fonction "send you suggestion"

Here is my message it is in french you can translate it if you want and maybe it will be helpfull to send a message to. More we are more chance they will give us their attemption:

I also have just discovered an easy way to spar against an opening with a bot, but my DGT board is not an option! It is only available in Live Chess. It looks like I'll have to wander over to Lichess to see if I can use it.

I have also asked support why the functionality is not there to play against Bots with a DGT e-board. I've had the following response on 27/07/23:

"Thank you for showing me this forum. I have let our developers know about the interest in this feature. If there are any technical reason why this isn't in place yet, they will tell me and I will update you. Otherwise, you can expect it to be "on its way" =)"

It would be nice if we knew if it was in progress!
