Fellow Square Off Pro user here. To answer your questions: 1) The bleeding from the LEDs in the board is normal. Mine flash ever-so-slightly as well but they're much darker than the ones being indicated - as long as they are only flashing when they should be, you're fine :) 2) Not sure how to fix the registration issue - I'm pretty sure I only had to register my board/log in one time at start and I have been playing ever since. Maybe check to make sure the registration is entered correctly? 3) this happens to me too but not every game - it's an extremely rare occurrence in my case. I just address it on a case-by-case basis but if it ever failed to display for an entire game, I would definitely call customer support.

4) I rarely play the AI but I've left it on Auto difficulty before playing and it seems to adjust fine. If you want to try the higher settings, why not adjust manually? It doesn't sound like you're a beginner at chess so why would you need to adjust it lower?

As the AI for me level 9 is too hard hehe (I'm a total beginner to be honest...) I want it to adjust lower ...
On number 4 (the AI), I found that the Auto mode started and stayed at level 9 for a number of games, then adjusted downward since it won every game at that level. It was probably about 15 games before it adjusted. I would also like to get a better understanding of how it "learns to adjust".

Maybe would be better starting at level 1 and rise if the player win hehe level 9 is already very high elo
I have been unable to use AI confidently. Eventually, a move won't register. Sometimes you can continue if you pause the game, turn off the board, close the app and start again (a hassle), but this does not always work. SquareOff has admitted to me that there is a problem with the app and that they are working on it. I waited a long time for the board and now it is unusable. What is worse is that they ship and take your money when they know there is an issue.
It is very easy, simply hit the Bluetooth icon on the upper right of the app Home screen. Then it will allow you to specify the square off and sync automatically with the board. My experience is only on Android.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any possibility of repair for it? I have sent an email to the company and found where Chess House offers to sell replacements, but say the rook is not available at this time.

Hello everyone, long story as short as possible the recent firmware update put my board in a state that it does not recognize that the pieces are on the correct squares in the square off app. when i go to play a game it shows me a diagram of how to properly set up the pieces and is stuck in that state. The odd thing is that it recognizes the pieces just fine in white pawn app and i can still play a game there. The firmware update left me unable to use the square off app and chess dojo app. Any thoughts?
I am facing trouble connecting my square off to chess.com. The connection seems buggy. Support seems helpful and am hopeful of an early resolution from them
Just received my SOP today and have already discovered a problem with the Android app. Playing against the AI, level 1 (but possibly others since I haven't checked), playing white or black, no time controls (however see below), if either the AI or I castle (which displays properly on the board) then their next move results in the board flashing the rook, knight and bishop squares where the castle occured. Trying to correct this has failed and if time controls are on the opponent losses on time.
Has anyone else experienced anytning like this?
Can anyone tell me what procedure I have to follow to return my unit which I bought through the Square Off site?

My son received a SOP board for his birthday, we played with it the last week of June and experienced no problem.
Then, tonight, we tried to boot it up and we are experiencing exactly what you describe with the casting.
Seems like an error caused by a recent update perhaps?
Does anybody have info on this bug?
In the meantime, it is unusable sadly...
hi guys, my wife gifted me a square off pro for my birthday but I am facing some small but annoying problem... maybe some of you that have the board can check and tell me if have same problem or I have a faulty device... 1. led light act strange but is visible only in low light environment. 2. I have the registration pop up everytime I open the app... I have registered the board but keep asking for it 3. sometimes when playing on chess.com the board doesn't show the opponent move with the leds... I have to open the board in the app to see what move my opponent did. happen like 1 time every 3 match 4. if I play against the AI on auto mode will not adjust the strength. is always at level 9 BTW I really like to play on this board and pieces recognition is very good and fast... hope to solve this problems... I have already opened a ticked with the official assistance but I want to have a feedback from other users... thx
